

Raymond Samuel Wood, age 92 of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away on April 12, 2021 with his loving daughter at his side. Raymond was born on November 24, 1928 in Salem, Massachusetts to Raymond Samuel Wood Sr. and Lillian Michaud. He attended parochial school in Salem, Massachusetts before graduating from Tufts University in Medford, Massachusetts. He served our nation in the US Navy as a Naval Aviator during the Korean War. After his military service, Raymond worked for over three decades for the DuPont Corporation at the Savannah River Project. He was a member of St. Luke’s Catholic Church and of the Knights of Columbus.
Raymond is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Dr. Dorothy Zuccarello Wood, and his son William Raymond Wood. He is survived by his daughters, Joan Howard and Jane Foster (Price), as well as his four grandchildren.
His mind, heart, and humor made him a cherished husband, father, and friend.
In accordance to his wishes, a private interment service will be held for Raymond on Saturday, April 17, 2021, officiated by Father Jose Kulathinal.
