Richard W. Brock

Richard (Rick) Wayne Brock, 57, went Home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, September 24, 2010 after a long battle with cancer. He was born on August 23, 1953 in Kansas City, MO. He loved the Lord and showed that love through his devotion to teaching Sunday School for many years at Shindler Drive Baptist Church and at Woodstock Park Baptist Church. Rick enjoyed gardening and reading. He was also an avid Gator fan. He was emplyed by White Wave Foods for over 10 years. Rick is preceded in death by his loving mother, Trudy Brock. He is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Margie; daughter, Dana (Chris) Byers; son, Thomas (Katie) Vaught; four grandchildren, Tiffany, Rebecca, Reagan and Jackson. He is also survived by his father, William Brock and stepmother, Peggy Brock and a sister, Carol (John) Stubbs, his beloved dog, Hannah; numerous cousins and many friends. The family will greet friends for a visitation from 6-8 pm, Thursday, September 30, 2010 at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, September 24, 2010 at Shindler Drive Baptist Church, 7100 Shindler Drive. Pastor John Green, IV will officiate. Interment to follow at Jacksonville Memory Gardens, 111 Blanding Blvd., Orange Park, FL. Arrangements are under the direction and care of Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 729 S. Edgewood Avenue, 904-388-2711. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the building fund at Shindler Drive Baptist Church.
