Richard was born in Cleveland, Ohio on December 16, 1935 to Frank and Sophie (Sziksai) Tozser. After graduating from John Adams High School in Cleveland, Richard married Barbara Catherine Csobady on January 26, 1957.
Richard worked for Midwest Auto, City of Cleveland Auto Repair and City Electric Supply, as well as a crossing guard for Duval County public police. He enjoyed auto racing, especially Indy car races. Richard was a Presbyterian and a member of Mandarin Presbyterian Church.
He is preceded in death by his son, Richard Donald Tozser, Jr.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Catherine Csobady Tozser; daughters, Beth Anne (Kurt) L. Heth, and Kristen Suzanne (Mark) H. Peterson, of Jacksonville, Florida; sisters, Sophie Nilsson of Grand Junction, Colorado and Elizabeth Hubert of Tallahassee, Florida; grandsons, Nicholas John Heth and Maxwell Richard Peterson; granddaughters, Laine Margaret Peterson (Benton) Jones II and Marilyn Elizabeth Heth of Jacksonville, Florida; and three great grandchildren, Benton "Tripp" Jones III, Auden Calloway Jones, Ruth Adelie Jones, all of Jacksonville, FL.
