Robert Roland Johnson

Robert Roland Johnson went home to be with the Lord on April 8, 2023 at the age of 102. He is member of Neptune Baptist Church. Robert joined the Navy in 1937. While serving in WW 2 he also served in three of Admiral Byrd Antarctic Expeditions and is the last known survivor. After 20 years in the Navy he worked for the United States Post Office for 20 years.

He is processed in death by his 1st wife Ruth C Johnson of 66 years and son Ellis A Johnson, Sr. He is survived by his current wife Mildred O Johnson of 17 years. daughter, in law, Jane Johnson, grand children, Robert J Johnson, David Johnson, Janet Johnson Disch(Trent Chesnut), Ellis Johnson, Jr. (Laura), Candace Johnson Laubach (Thomas), 10 great grand children, and five great grandchildren.

Stepdaughters Linda(Jamie), Kimberly, Lynn (Tim) and Stepson Robert Raines. Grandchildren Chad (Tracy), Jodi Sosa (Carlos), Melissa(Heather), Ashley (Steven),Kenny (Madison), Kyle(Haylea), Ben (Chantelle), great-grand children Alyssa, McKenzi, Kylee, Gabby, CJ, Kane, Beau, Jaxson.

A visitation will be held at Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home on Thursday April 13th from 5 pm to 7 pm.

A funeral service will be held at Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home on Friday April 14th at 11 am.
