

He grew up in Downers Grove, IL and attended the local schools. In 1961, Bob led his 'Electromotive Little League' baseball team to the Illinois State Championship with his long-ball and consistent hitting. He was active in Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, and was a 'Den Chief'. He was also active in 'Junior Achievement' where he learned his business skills early on.
In his high school years, he was Captain of football team and Captain of his wrestling team. He also attended Culver Military Academy, during some of his high school years. He graduated at Downers Grove North High School in Illinois in 1969.
His college career started at Batesville College where he earned his AA. He was very active in social and student counsel in College. Bob was an integral part organizing Earth Day and was chairman of one of the first Earth Day celebrations at University of Southern Florida.
Bob married Edna in June of 1980, and they were married for 38 years, and lived the remainder of their lives at Osceola St. in Riverside of Jacksonville, Florida.
He was active in churches during his adult years at Riverside Park United Methodist Church and Trinity Lutheran Church located in Jacksonville, Florida. He held many positions at the churches, from Board of Trustees to Sunday school teacher to Outreach Committee Chairperson. He was always willing to lend a hand where he could.
Bob's work career started at Johns-Mansville, then he went on to help run the family business, Lange Lighting, where he worked throughout his life and was President of Jacksonville Lange Lighting company before retiring.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Edna G. Lange, and his mother, Anne Mayer Lange.
Surviving relatives include his father, Albert W Lange; brothers, William (and wife, Claire) Lange & Fred Lange. He was also adored by one grandchild, Haley Morgan Lawrence and one step-daughter, Melissa (husband, George) Cooper Twiss and four step-granddaughters daughters.
Bob's Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, February 1, 2020 at Riverside Park United Methodist Church (Chapel), 819 Park St., Jacksonville, Florida 32204.
