

He served 3 yrs in the US Army overseas. When he returned stateside, he started a restaurant chain in Jacksonville called The Village Oven Restaurants and later in life became a used car dealer at San Pablo Motors.
Selling his business and retiring in 2007, he renewed his love for Honda Goldwing Motorcycles and became an active member of The Goldwing Road Riders Assn attaining the level of Certified Master Tour Rider and Ride Captain in the Orange Park Chapter. He later transitioned to The Eagle Wings Motorcycle Assn.
He traveled extensively with his wife and many friends by motorcycle throughout the southeastern U.S. and Smokey Mountains. He was also a member of "The Florida Patriot Guard" which honors our Nations Fallen Hero's and Veterans throughout our State & Nation.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Dayle Tinder Manes, two sons Scottie (wife - Rachel) Manes of Lutz, Fl. Robert E ( Bob) Manes II, of Jacksonville and one very favorite and loved grandson Tyler Parker Manes (fiancé - Christina Bode) of Tampa, along with his many friends and relatives.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 11801 San Jose Boulevard, on Monday, August 12th at 6pm. Donations to the American Heart Assn in lieu of flowers.
A Patriot Guard led Funeral procession will leave Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home 11801 San Jose Boulevard on Tuesday, August 13th at 8am to Jacksonville National Cemetery for a military interment.
