Robert "Pop" Frank Jones, Sr.

Robert, also known by many as Pop, was a beloved husband and loving father. He served in the United States Navy from July 1943 through December 1945. After exiting the Navy, he attended various training schools and then worked as an electrician, weather stripper, carpenter, mechanic, and barber and owned several businesses including a pool hall, luncheonette and auto body shop. He enjoyed activities such as bowling, playing cards and camping trips with his wife in their RV. In his last years, he enjoyed activities in the Palatka Senior Center and was in this loving care of his son, Robert and daughter-in-law, Vida along with Caregiver Marie and Community Hospice and Palliative Care. He will be remembered and missed by family and friends.

He was predeceased by his loving wife of 75 years, Helen A. Jones. He is survived by his 4 loving children, Robert F Jones, Jr., David L. Jones, Michelle R. Grossmith, and Linda L. Zollenhofer; four grandchildren, Danny, Kevin, Bo and Jinny; five great grandchildren, Bryton, Hunter, Sean, Tiegan and Cazrick; and two nieces, Joann and Beth.

Visitation will be held from 5:00pm to 7:00pm on Thursday, June 3, 2021 at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin. The graveside service will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, June 4, 2021 at Greenlawn Cemetery, 4300 Beach Boulevard, Jacksonville, Florida 32207.
