Robert J. Underkofler

Robert J. Underkofler, 85, passed away April 2, 2014. Born in Cherryvale, Kansas, Bob moved to Jacksonville as a teenager and graduated from Andrew Jackson High School and Jacksonville University. After returning from 3 years in the Air Force he married his high school sweetheart, Josephine and they were married for over 60 years. Following his military service he graduated from Emory Dental School in Atlanta, then Bob and his new bride moved back to Jacksonville where they worked and raised a family. He was preceded in death by his wife Josephine, parents, Elizabeth (Cramer) and T.O. Webb and his sister, Betty Martin. Surviving are his three sons, Dr. Robert J. (Helen) Underkofler, Dr. Steven J. (Janet) Underkofler, David J. (Anne) Underkofler, 7 loving grandchildren, Robby, Adam, Andy, Jason, Jared, Hannah and Ian and many dear friends. An avid golfer and tennis player, he also enjoyed traveling with his wife, gardening and most of all, spending time with his family. A Celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, April 12th at 2:00 pm at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 4115 Hendricks Ave., Jacksonville, FL 32207.
