Robert Paul Vidler, 75, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away Monday, April 11, 2022 at his home, surrounded by family and friends. He was born in Webster, Massachusetts on March 22, 1947. Son of the late Robert Pennycook Vidler and Clara Margaret Dolan. He was predeceased by his wife Roberta Ruth Taylor. He is survived by his son Robert Paul Vidler Jr., daughter Roberta Ruth Vidler Fairhurst,
and son George Eric Halgren Vidler, and grandchildren, William Fairhurst, Dylan Fairhurst, Sabrie Vidler, Anastasia Vidler, and Chloe Vidler. He is also survived by his step children Kenny Heller, Paul Heller, Denise Orcutt and Jann Bell and numerous grandchildren.
He enlisted in the United States Navy in May 1968 serving thirty years retiring as a Chief Petty Officer.
A funeral service for Robert will be held Monday, April 18, 2022 at 11:00 AM at the Legacy Lodge, 4801 San Jose Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32207. Following the funeral service will be a graveside service at 1:30 PM at Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32218. In lieu of flowers the family prefers donations be made to the Jacksonville Humane Society at Jaxhumane.org.
