Born on July 31, 1948, Bruce lived a life full of personality, laughter, loyalty, and deep love for his family and friends. He was the kind of person who left an impression on everyone he met—his presence was big, his stories were unforgettable, and his ability to make people feel like lifelong friends was one of his greatest gifts.
Bruce’s family was always his first priority. He was a proud and loving father to his son, Rob Wright and his wife Tina, and his daughter, Jenna Dobbins and her husband Chris. He was an incredibly proud grandfather to Carson, Mason, Brecken, Cooper, Emily, Bentley, and Jaxson, all of whom brought him immense joy and pride.
He also shared many years of love and companionship with his longtime partner, Judy Williams, whose care and support meant so much to him.
Bruce is also survived by his brother, Ned Wright and his wife Marilyn. He was preceded in death by his brother, John Wright, and his sister, Martha Wright. He was deeply loved by his nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews, and he treasured those relationships throughout his life.
Bruce loved golf—not just for the game itself, but for the friendships, laughter, and memories that came with it. Much of that joy was found at Eagle Harbor Golf Club, where he spent countless hours on the course and at the clubhouse with “the fellas,” celebrating life one round at a time. Over the years, he proudly scored four holes-in-one, each one adding another legendary story to his collection.
He also had a deep love for travel and adventure. Whether he was visiting his childhood friend in California, setting off on big adventures to new places, or taking repeat trips with Judy in search of great food and good memories, Bruce embraced every opportunity to explore. One of his favorite adventures was traveling to New Zealand, a trip he spoke of often. He also loved chasing coastlines and discovering lighthouses, always appreciating the beauty of the journey as much as the destination.
If you knew Bruce, you knew him. He had a way of filling a room, making people laugh, and telling stories that somehow always got better with time. His relationships, his humor, and the memories he created with the people he loved will live on far beyond him.
He will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and always loved.
