

Robin Dean Smith, 56, passed away on Monday, July 13th in Jacksonville, FL after complications from pulmonary fibrosis. He was surrounded by his loving family. Dean was born in Monterey, CA, on September 28, 1958 to Billy and Delores Smith.
During his lifetime, Dean proudly served his country in the United States Navy as a Cryptologic Technician (CTO), retiring after 21 years of service as a Master Chief Petty Officer. He was currently employed by Lockheed Martin. Dean was recognized as a true leader throughout his careers and inspired many people to be the best person they could be. Dean was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to many. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He most cherished spending time with his family and friends.
Dean is survived by his wife of 33 years, Sheila; children, Christina Perando and her husband, Tim, Derek, Ryan and Nicholas and his wife, Stephanie; grandchildren, Austin and Camden; brother, Guy; sisters, Sue and Patty and many other relatives and friends.
The Funeral Service will be held at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin on Saturday, July 18 at 4:00pm. Visitation will be one hour prior to service. A Reception and Celebration of Dean’s Life will follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, 230 East Ohio Street, Suite 304, Chicago, IL 60611.
