

Rodney Alejandro Mella, age 43, passed away in Jacksonville, Florida on July 12, 2016. He was born in Miami Beach, Florida on October 10, 1972 to Romulo and Asuncion Mella. He has been a resident of Jacksonville most of his life. He was a graduate of Christ the King Catholic School and Episcopal High School. He attended the University of South Carolina and received a degree from Tallahassee Community College.
He was the owner of Lugman U.S.A in Jacksonville. He was a member of the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jacksonville.
He is survived by his parents, Romulo and Asuncion Mella of Jacksonville, Florida, three brothers, Roger Rommel Mella, Romulo Joseph Mella and Patrick Michael Mella as well as three sisters, Therese Fiona Mella Caritos, Anne Marie Mella”Sister Ursula” and Karen Concepcion. He was a beloved uncle to his nephews Alejandro, Xavier, Ryan, Nathan, Clinton, and his nieces Veronica, Sophia, Amelia, Claire, Nina, and Katherine. He is also survived by uncles, aunts, cousins, and a host of friends.
Rodney will always be remembered for his devotion to his family, his free spirit, and passion for life in his various pursuits. He was a proud hard working business owner, he was a skilled craftsman in anything related to cars and audio. He was a champion pool player, and expert RC racer. He was also an accomplished guitarist and musician. In addition he was a varsity letterman at Episcopal High School in football, baseball and wrestling. He is best remembered for his charm, charisma, humor, and giving spirit. He was wonderful friend to all that knew him. He is most remembered by his family as a loving man who spent his life serving them and brought humor and happiness to them all.
