Ronald Roger Roney

Ron was born in Dothan, AL to Jessie and Maurice Roney on July 14, 1953. He served in the United States Navy for 20 years and received an Associate of Applied Science Engineering Technology degree from the State Technical Institute at Memphis, TN during this time. Following his retirement from the Navy in 1993, he pursued a career as a long-distance truck driver. Ron was a loving father and husband, who will be remembered for his integrity and devotion to his family. He was an avid Jaguars fan and enjoyed fishing, racquetball, and watching sports.

Ron is survived by his wife of 43 years, Lilia C. Roney, of Green Cove Springs, FL; sons Daniel I. Roney of Green Cove Springs, FL and Joseph C. Roney of Rockville, MD; and sisters Hazel R. Marshall of Midland City, AL and Kathyrn R. Peacock and her husband Billy F. Peacock of Slocomb, AL. The family expresses gratitude to the staff at Haven Hospice for their compassionate care.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 beginning at 10am and going until service time at 11am at Hardage-Giddens Mandarin Chapel, 11801 San Jose Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32223.
