Ronald Gerard "Pep" Servant, 70, of Jacksonville, FL, passed away on January 21, 2024. Ron was a man who cherished his family above all else. Cheryl, his wife of 50 years, was his childhood sweetheart. His 3 children were his pride and joy, and his 6 grandchildren were his heart. He was an avid Red Sox fan, and his claim to fame was warming up in the bullpen at Fenway Park during a tryout for the team. He loved living the retired life in Florida, walking on Jacksonville Beach, going barefoot all day long, never missed watching a Red Sox game on TV and coaxing two crops of tomatoes yearly in his backyard patio garden which he called his "lower 40". He enjoyed making Limoncello from his fresh lemons and gifting it to family and friends at the holidays. He loved to travel and enjoyed cruising, especially his "trip of a lifetime" to the Eastern Mediterranean.
Ron was born on November 19, 1953, in Southbridge, MA. He was a 1971 graduate of Marianhill Central Catholic High School where he was recognized as a star pitcher of the school baseball team where he is known for pitching a no-hitter in his Babe Ruth league in 1972. He attended Worcester State College.
He spent 35 years at the United Lens Company, first as an annealer and finishing his career in the sales department.
In addition to his wife Cheryl (Bombardier) Servant of Jacksonville, FL, he leaves behind his daughters, Amy M. Postale, wife of Tony Postale of Southbridge, MA, and Kristen L. Synnott, wife of Brian Synnott of Stafford Springs, CT, and his son Ryan R. Servant, husband of Kaitlin L Servant of Brookfield, MA. Ron will also be dearly missed by his cherished grandchildren Joe, Noah, Anthony, Charlotte, Alden, and Elise.
He was predeceased by his father, Gerard A Servant, and his mother Germaine A Servant.
Per his wishes, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in Massachusetts.
Ronald Gerard "Pep" Servant will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his love for the Red Sox, and his enjoyment of the retired life in Florida. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
