

Sandra “Mimi” Webb Kraus, 90, passed away at home on March 4, 2026 surrounded by her loving family. Born October 15, 1935, in Piedmont, AL, Sandra was the daughter of Clara Francis Weaver and Earl James Webb. Sandra moved to Charleston, SC, at a young age, and graduated from Chicora High School in 1953.
Sandra met the love of her life, Vincent Valentine Kraus, at the Amvets Club in Charleston, SC, in December, 1959. They were married for 54 years, until Vince’s passing. After their children, Robert and Kelly, were born, they moved to Jacksonville in 1964, where they continued to build their life.
Sandra began her career at Southern Bell Telephone Company as a switchboard telephone operator, where she worked until relocating to Jacksonville, FL. Guided by a deep love for seeing the world, she co-owned A Travel Place, a travel agency, for many years - an endeavor that reflected both her curiosity and her joy in helping others explore new places.
One of her greatest personal accomplishments was earning a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of North Florida in 1984, graduating Magna Cum Laude.
Sandra will lovingly be remembered as Mimi, the matriarch of the family - an adventurous, kind-hearted, and selfless presence in the lives of those who knew her. Mimi’s interests were expressed through the warmth of everyday life: cooking for all, sewing, gardening, reading, and traveling.
Sandra was preceded in death by her husband, Vincent. She is survived by her children, Robert (Donna) Kraus of Lyons, GA, and Kelly (Doug) Stephens of Jacksonville, FL. Her grandchildren, Jacob, Megan and Shane, along with numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
