

Sara Felhandler, 84, longtime resident of Jacksonville, passed away on Wednesday, July 4, 2012. She was born on May 1, 1928 in Havana, Cuba, daughter of Mendel and Esther (Rahinovich) Brozoza. She immigrated to the U.S. in August, 1951 with her husband, Leon, and 2-month-old daughter, Belinda and settled in Jacksonville.
Sara and Leon were longtime members of the Jacksonville Jewish Center and then the Temple Ahavath Chesed. They also belonged to the Cuban-American Club for many years.
Sara and Leon both loved to dance several nights a week, doing ballroom and especially Latin dances.
Surviving her are her loving husband of 65 years, Leon, two daughters, Belinda and husband Larry Wurn of Melrose, Florida, Elaine Felhandler of N.Y., N.Y., a sister, Dora Wannop of Jacksonville, five nieces and four nephews and many dear longtime friends.
A Memorial Service was held on Thursday, July 5, 2012 at the Temple Ahavath Chesed with Rabbi Joshua Lief officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the American Heart Association.
Arrangements by Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 4115 Hendricks Avenue, Jacksonville, FL. 32207. There will be a private inurnment with prayers at a later date held at Greenlawn Cemetery with Rabbi Joshua Lief officiating.
