

Sara Marion Watson Morrow, our beloved mother, grandmother, greatgrandmother, and friend, died March 26, 2017, in Orange Park, Florida. She is survived by her children, Elizabeth Chase Morrow Wery (Louis), Sara Morrow Kirilloff, Matthew Edward Morrow, III (Karron), and John Love Morrow (Martha); her grandchildren William Edward Kirilloff, Robert Morrow Kirilloff (Allison), Caitlin Frances Morrow Huysman (Tanner), Matthew Edward Morrow IV, Madalaine Chase Morrow, Jefferson Slayton Morrow, John Love Morrow IV, Christopher Richard Morrow, her great granddaughter Catherine Rose Kirilloff, her precious daughter-in-law Susan Slayton Morrow as well as many relatives and friends.
She was pre-deceased by her husband, Matthew Edward Morrow, Jr., M.D.; her parents, Sadie Chase Chappell Watson and Peyton Jefferson Watson, her brothers and sisters and her sons, Jefferson Wood Morrow and Shad Barnhart Reeves Morrow.
Sara treasured her close family as her greatest joy. She also served her community. As a young active in the Junior League of Jacksonville, she designed, built, scripted, voiced and created the character Mike Sharp a full-bodied boy puppet dressed in a flannel suit. In the late 1950s, Sara and her puppet starred with James Christian Pfohl, then music director of the Jacksonville Symphony, in a local PBS educational program for elementary school children titled “The Magic of Music.”
Born and raised in Jacksonville, Sara graduated from West Riverside Elementary, John Gorrie Junior High, Robert E. Lee High, Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri and the University of North Florida. At her death, Sara was a member of Riverside Presbyterian Church, the National Society of Colonial Dames in the State of Florida, the 20/20 Book Club, Acacia Garden Circle and the Club Continental. Previously, she served as president of the National Society of Colonial Dames in the State of Florida; a board member of the Junior League of Jacksonville; a member of Riverside Presbyterian Church where she was a Stephen Minister for many years.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
