It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sharon Philippe, beloved aunt and friend, who peacefully departed from this world on April 2, 2024. Sharon leaves behind a legacy of warmth, kindness, and unwavering loyalty that will forever be cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing her.
Born in 1943 in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Robert and Mary Alice Philippe, Sharon dedicated much of her life to her career as a legal assistant and paralegal, serving diligently at several esteemed firms throughout her illustrious career. She began her journey at Sharp & Gay, where her commitment and dedication earned her the admiration of colleagues and clients alike. Subsequently, she joined Stiles, Taylor & Grace, where she spent more than a decade honing her skills and building lasting relationships. It was during this time that many of her dearest friends had the pleasure of encountering Sharon's remarkable professionalism and genuine kindness. In 2009, she embarked on a new chapter at Boyd & Jenerette, where she continued to shine until her well-deserved retirement in 2013.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Sharon was a vibrant and sociable individual who embraced life with enthusiasm and zest. A devoted fan of the Jacksonville Jaguars since their inception in 1995, she remained a steadfast supporter through thick and thin, faithfully cheering on her team with unwavering loyalty. Sharon's zest for life extended beyond the football field, as she cherished the company of her dear friends, indulging in weekly happy hours and leisurely lunches filled with laughter and camaraderie. Her adventures with her beloved friends were cherished moments of joy of which she always spoke fondly, whether they were enjoying long weekends at the Ritz Carlton in Amelia Island or embarking on exciting cruises and vacations together.
In her later years, Sharon found solace and contentment with her beloved cat, Brie, and her favorite Barcalounger, at Brooks Bartram Lakes, where she forged new friendships and embraced the vibrant community around her. Her spirited nature endeared her to all who knew her, and she brought joy to those around her with her infectious laughter and irrepressible charm. Sharon's fondness for bingo and penchant for occasional mischief added a touch of excitement to her days at Brooks, where she continued to live life to the fullest.
Sharon's final moments were spent in the comfort of her home, surrounded by the memories of a life well-lived. While we mourn her passing, we take solace in the knowledge that she is now reunited with those who passed before her including her parents, brother Allen Philippe, sister Cathy Hartness, niece Pam Gil, nephew John Philippe and of course her best friend and furry companion, Brie. Sharon is survived by her loving nephews, Eddie Hartness (Kathy) and Scott Philippe. Sharon's legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering kindness will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were touched by her presence.
A celebration of Sharon's life will be held at 11am on Thursday, April 11, 2024, at Hardage-Giddens Oaklawn Legacy Lodge located at 4801 San Jose Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32207, where friends and family will gather to honor her memory and share stories of her remarkable life. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Sharon's honor to the Jacksonville Humane Society (jaxhumane.org)
