Sherry Hicks Campbell was born June 17, 1956 in Norfolk, Virginia. Sherry was the third of 3 daughters born to Dave and Virginia “Shug” Hicks. The family moved to Florida in 1961 where Sherry lived the remainder of her life. Sherry was married to the one true love of her life, Mendel Campbell, Jr. in 1986, until his untimely death in 1994. Sherry was a faithful employee of Mayo Clinic for 30+ years, where she made many lifelong friends. After a valiant 3 year battle with ovarian cancer, she went to her eternal home in Heaven on March 12, 2019.
Sherry was predeceased by her parents and her husband. She is survived by her daughter, Linley Campbell, and granddaughter, Bella Dare. She is also survived by her sisters, Linda Benjamin and Carroll (Don) Miniard, as well as nieces, Natalie and Amy, and nephews, Evan, Austin, Richard, and Brandon, as well as many cousins. She also had countless friends that loved her dearly.
The funeral service for Sherry will be held Saturday, March 23, 2019 at Hardage-Giddens Greenlawn Funeral Home, 4300 Beach Boulevard, Jacksonville, FL 32207. Visitation will be at 1:00pm in the Chapel at Greenlawn, followed by the Funeral Service at 2:00pm, with the Burial at Greenlawn Cemetery immediately following the service. The family requests NO FLOWERS please.
