Susanna Brooks Peveto

Susanna grew up in Louisiana, graduated from Westminster Christian Academy, Opelousas, LA, 1998, Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama, 2002, and then spent time with State Farm in Louisiana, Jacksonville, and Huntsville, Al. After her marriage to Brian, she spent several years with Merrill Lynch here in Jacksonville, and the past several years teaching high school students history and western thought.

She, along with her husband, Brian, found their life’s passion as they became therapeutic foster parents specializing in special needs children. They eventually adopted two sons, Caleb and Dylan. They were and are in the process of adopting their third son, Dominic, at her passing. Susanna was also a member of Celebration Church, participating in their freedom ministry and participated in missions trips around the globe. All who came in contact with her knew of her zeal for life. She will be sorely missed, but we are grateful that she was part of our lives. Susanna is survived by her husband, Brian Peveto; three sons, Caleb, Dylan, and Dominic, in-laws Darrell and Judy Peveto; parents, Sam and Merida Brooks, Lafayette, LA; brother, John Brooks (Katherine), Jacksonville; 3 sisters, Deborah Brooks Pierce (JD), Lafayette, LA; Lydia Brooks Andrews (Chuck), Birmingham, AL; and Elisabeth Brooks Nipper (Will) Manville, TX; and 15 nieces and nephews.

The Family would like to thank all who faithfully prayed for Susanna in her last days, and all friends who have reached out with love and support. Our gratitude and appreciation abounds.

A celebration of life memorial service will be held at Celebration Church, 10302 Deerwood Park Blvd, St 104, Jacksonville, FL. on Friday, June 7th from 6-8 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the John M Brooks Foundation, Inc. 100% of proceeds will go to furthering the vision Susanna and Brian have of fostering and adopting children.
