

Ted W. Shaw, 63, of Jacksonville, passed away on March 29, 2011 at his residence. Ted was born on December 24, 1947 in Jacksonville, FL to Ralph C. Shaw and Vuna C. (Hickey) Shaw. Ted served in the United States Army, where he was a Vietnam Veteran. While serving his country, Ted was awarded the Purple Heart Medal and the Bronze Star. He retired after 33 years from the United States Postal Service where he worked as a Driver Instructor. Ted was a member of the Callahan Baptist Church, and he enjoyed fishing, his boat, and spending time with his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife, Linette A. Shaw; his son, Jeremy W. Shaw and his wife Michelle; his son, Marco W. Shaw; his daughter, Darlene Devane and her husband Jay; his mother, Vuna C. Shaw; his brother, Kenneth Shaw; his sister, Patricia Bass and her husband William; his 3 grandchildren, Danielle, Steffanie, and Jaymeson; and his many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, other loving family members and friends. Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Saturday, April 2nd in Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, April 3rd in Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Arnold as Officiant. Memorial donations may be made in memory of Ted to the Community Hospice of Northeast Florida, 4266 Sunbeam Rd. Jacksonville, FL 32257.
