Theresa Odom Gibson

Theresa Odom Gibson born on September 28th 1960 passed away on August 19th 2021, at the age of 60. She is survived by her husband Timmy, siblings: Gerald, Connie, and Andy; 3 sons: Michael Hurlbert, Ridge Hurlbert, & Zack Zihal, and many grandchildren: Lindsay, Aubry, Joni, John boy, Jackson, Trace, Trevor, Alexandria, Ashton and many more that called her Nanny that she claimed as family.

Theresa graduated from Technical Senior High class of 1977. From an early age she developed a zest and passion for life. A lifetime lover of music, specifically rock n roll, she instilled that same passion into her sons at an early age. Theresa could be found most days listening to her bands. She held a particular fondness for Steven Tyler that her family enjoyed teasing her for. Aerosmith and VanHalen were always a favorite.

You never had any doubt what holiday was drawing near when at Theresa’s house. She went all out in decorations whether it was for Halloween or Christmas. Everyone remembers the extreme measures she would take to set the stage for the season, either removing furniture for her treasured giant Christmas tree, one of many she had around the house, or covering mirrors and hanging lights inside for Halloween.

A Queen in the kitchen, Theresa could make just about anything taste divine. She created several classics that her children and grandchildren consider favorites. She loved to cook for those she loved.

Never dull, Theresa was a boisterous compassionate woman. Always having a joke to make you laugh, or a shoulder to cry on. She was loving and kind to all who could claim the privilege of calling her friend. She will be dearly missed and forever remembered.
