KING - Theresa Clare King, 87, went to her Home in Heaven on March 6, 2021 after a short illness. Clare, as she was known by all who knew her, was born on February 14, 1934 in Jacksonville, FL. Clare is predeceased by her parents, Cyrus W and Mary Smith King, her brother Clyde King and her sister Corinne King.
She will be lovingly remembered by her nieces and nephews, Jean Beckwith, Mary Ann Nabywaniec, Eileen Outen, Clyde King Jr. (Betty), John King (Susan) and Thomas King (Aline). Also, by great and great-great nieces and nephews: Mike Lehman, Jim Lehman (Tommie Lee), Christopher Outen, Michelle Matthews (Daniel), Sydney King, Asher King, Connor Lehman, Lauren Lehman, Jackson King, Samuel King, Parker Phan, Alex Outen, Dylan Lehman, and Slater Matthews. And also, by her closest friend of 30 years and her caregiver during these last few years, Joanie Noegel.
Clare worked in the accounting department at Bell South and retired after 28 years to care for her mother. She was part of a close group of friends that would meet for lunch every Thursday for years and then play an afternoon of cards at each other’s homes. Clare and her twin sister, Corinne, took several big trips out west and to Canada. A highpoint of Clare’s life was the Pilgrimage trip she took to Portugal, Spain, and France with her best friend, Joanie Noegel. They visited many churches dedicated to the Saints and most fondly remember visiting the Shrines of Our Lady of Lourdes and Our Lady of Fatima.
Clare will be missed by everyone who had the honor of knowing her. She would light up the room with her sharp wit, keen sense of humor, and upbeat attitude even while enduring difficult times.
The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to Community Hospice for the excellent care they gave Clare and support they gave to the family.
