

Thomas J. Keating, 82, of Jacksonville, Florida died on September 13, 2014. He was born on March 24, 1932, in Harrison, New Jersey Prior to moving to Jacksonville in 1978, Tom was employed by Worthington Pump Corp in E. Orange, NJ as a Supervisor of Commercial Engineering. He continued his career in Jacksonville working as a Sales Engineer for Holley Edwards and Custom Pump and Controls until retirement . He was a member of the Florida Gun and Tackle Club and a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed dancing and singing and had a great Irish humor and laughter which will be greatly missed. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Barbara, residing at Westminster Woods Retirement Center; and brother, John Keating (Lynn); niece, Almeta Lynn Keating of New Hope, PA; nephews, Joseph McGuire (Jennifer), John George Keating (Amy), Bradley Thomas Keating (Stacy); and 9 great nieces and nephews all residing in NJ; and dear friends Jack & Maureen Mesh of Switzerland, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents, John George and Mary Collins Keating; sisters, Rosemary McGuire (Joseph) and Dorothy Peters (Paul). A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 27 at 10:30 a.m. at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin.
