

Thomas A. Saitta, CLU, 80, of Jacksonville, passed away on January 21, 2012. Tom was born on May 24, 1931, in Steubenville, Ohio. He was a graduate of Landon High School and Florida State University, and had a lifelong career in the life insurance industry, primarily with Gulf Life and American General. Tom was an avid golfer and bridge player. He was a member of the Mandarin United Methodist Church, former President of the Champions Club Golf Association, youth league baseball coach and Cub Scout leader. He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 60 years, Leota; his two sons, Thomas C. Saitta (Bobbie) and Kenneth H. Saitta (Laura); his brother Charles Saitta (Betty); and his grandson, Evan Saitta. Tom was predeceased by his parents, Walter and Hazel Saitta; and his brother and sister-in-law, Walter and Cleo Saitta. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 4th, in the Mandarin United Methodist Church, 11270 San Jose Blvd., Jacksonville, FL. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in memory of Tom to the American Lung Association.
