Vernon Johnson

Vernon Johnson, born on December 27, 1948, passed away on December 12, 2025, at the age of 76. He was a resident of Jacksonville, Florida. Vernon was a graduate of Stanton High School, class of 1967. He proudly and honorably served in the United States Air Force, 4 years active duty and 2 years reserve. Vernon worked as millwright, and was an industrial machinist. During his spare time, he was a car enthusiast, loved to fish, and also travel with his family.

Vernon is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Verna Whipple Johnson. He is survived by his loving and faithful wife of 57 years, Sharon A. Johnson; his daughter, Brianna D. Johnson; and siblings Vera Johnson, Ralph Johnson, and Andrew Johnson.

Visitation will be held at Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home PA, located at 940 Cesery Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32211, on December 20, 2025, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm.

The funeral service will follow at the funeral home at 1:00 PM.

A committal service is scheduled at Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, FL 32218, on December 23, 2025, at 11:30 am. Guests are asked to please arrive no later than 11:15 AM for the committal services on Tuesday at the cemetery.
