Vernon Wilson

Mr. Vernon Wilson - We bow in humble submission to the will of God, to thank Him for the life of Mr. Vernon Wilson. He was born to the late Bennie Wilson and the late Mary Wilson on Friday, May 10, 1935 in Halcyondale, Georgia.

God, in His infinite wisdom and mercy, in His own way and for His own purpose, on Saturday, July 13, 2013, walking through His garden, turned and saw a beautiful bird of paradise in full bloom, decided that this flower was too special to stay among the others, so He plucked the bird of paradise, Vernon Wilson …unto Himself at 6:23 a.m.

His beautiful memory and giving spirit will always be cherished by his loving wife, Mary Wilson; his son, Darryl R. Ferguson (Margo); daughters, Jacqueline Joyner (Adrian), Sabrina Deborah Ferguson, Sonya Denice Polke ( the late Carl Milton Polke); grandchildren, Kuwanya Coty Brown, Trey Storm Polke (Meaghan), Craig Garner (Christy), Karli Denicea Polke, Donte Ferguson, Darryl Weaver Ferguson, Darrell Ferguson, Darryl Ferguson; great grandchildren, Bryce Jeremy Brown, Josiah Carl Polke-Mimic, Hayden Garner, Eden Garner, Kira Polke, the late Gabrielle Denice Polke, Isaiah Garner-Nwanegbo, Karleyah Denicea Polke-Komatz, Lateria Hernandez; Goddaughter, Vonceil Smith; brother, the late Tommy Wilson; sisters, the late Bonita Sumlar, Artistine White, Filisia Wilson. He also leaves to cherish his memory, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family will receive friends for the visitation on Friday, July 19, 2013 from five o'clock until eight o'clock in the evening at The Oaklawn Chapel. The Home-Going Celebration will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2013 at eleven o'clock in the morning at The Oaklawn Chapel. Entombment will immediately follow the celebration in Oaklawn Cemetery.
