

Wife and mother, Vivian Smith Calhoun left this earth on February 15, 2013, to rest in the arms of her savior Jesus Christ. She was born and raised July 31, 1937 in Jacksonville Florida to Mr. Joseph and Mattie Smith. She graduated from Boylan-Haven in 1955 and furthered her education at Clark College in Atlanta Georgia.
In her youth she was a member of Mt. Vernon Missionary Baptist Church where she tirelessly served in the Rachel Brooks Choir. In 1980 she was united in marriage to Rev. Joe Calhoun where she followed him in his ministry to Hisbon Baptist and Hopper Baptist Church. They served there until he was called to pastor at New Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church where they served faithfully for 21 years. In 2008 Vivian joined Greater New Mt Lilla where she continued her faith and service.
She leaves to cherish her life, loving husband Joe Calhoun; three daughters: Belinda Williams (Henry), Angelia Chavis (William), Alonda Billings (Darryl), and one stepson Joe Calhoun Jr. Seven grandchildren: Henry Williams III, Gabrielle Wilson (Chris), Devin Williams, Camielle Chavis, Danielle Chavis, Janae Billings, and Darryl Billings Jr.; one Great-granddaughter, Makayla Chavis. She will be missed and always loved by many cousins and friends.
