

Walter Blane “W.B.” Williams, Jr., 67, passed away peacefully, on Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at the Community Hospice Warner Center for Caring in Fernandina Beach, Florida. Mr. Williams was born October 27, 1950 in Folkston, Georgia to the late Walter Blane, Sr. and Clara Estelle Hodges Williams. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a precious daughter, Jessica Williams in 2014 and his beloved Laverne Kirkland, Mate of 25 years. Survivors include two sons, David (Teresa) Edwards of Palatka, Florida and Jessie (Katie) Williams of Hilliard, Florida; one daughter, Ashley Pilgrim of Atlanta, Georgia; one brother, Retired Sheriff Ray (Liz) Geiger of Callahan, Florida; one sister, Glenda Robinson of Jacksonville, Florida; twelve grandchildren; other loving family and friends.
W.B. worked at a number of funeral homes for a span of over 9 years. He also worked in the tire industry, both retail and commercial, for over 30 years.
One of his greatest joys in life was to make people laugh. He always had a story to tell, for as far back as you could remember. Everyone loved to hear those stories. He was also a huge Jacksonville Jaguars fan!
He will be deeply missed by family and friends.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, September 9, 2018 at “The Meeting Place”, 551856 U.S. Highway 1, Hilliard, Florida, with Chaplain Jackie Hayes officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Community Hospice of Northeast Florida (www.community hospice.com).
