Wanda Sue Williams-Lisle, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, historian of her family’s legacy and a dear friend to many, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2025, surrounded by her loving family in Jacksonville, Florida.
Wanda was born on February 21,1943 in Williamsport, Indiana to wonderful parents- Earl Bradley Williams and Emma Lou Nunn. Wanda finished her high school and Associate’s Degree in Business Administration in West Palm Beach, Florida and worked with RCA, McDonald Douglas and Sunland Center in Marianna, Florida as an executive assistant to the director of the facility. Wanda found joy in the simple yet profound pleasures in life, going to Welcome Church, meeting with friends and volunteering in the local community as a long time resident of Sneads and Marianna, Florida. She was an avid reader, a gifted crafter and a passionate collector of antiques. Her love for music, especially the timeless voices of Elvis Presley and Tom Jones, brought melody and joy into her life. A dedicated historian at heart, Wanda compiled a remarkable book tracing her family tree back to the 1700’s. This labor of love detailed stories, accomplishments, and legacies of her ancestors, ensuring the history would be cherished by generations to come. Her work serves as a treasured reminder of the importance of family and stories that bind us.
Following the passing of her dear husband, Robert Earl Lisle on January 12, 2018, Wanda found solace and laughter with her closest companions- The Golden Girls- Suzy, Mimi, and Janet. Their bond brought her joy and companionship in her golden years.
Wanda is survived by her two siblings, Linda Williams Milner and Dale Williams, and her three devoted children, who carry forward her legacy of love, strength, and curiosity; Michael Wise, Michele Hernandez, David Wise, grandchildren and great grandchildren, who brought her immense pride and happiness. Wanda’s vibrant spirit, boundless creativity and deep love for family will be remembered and celebrated by all who knew her.
Our family would like to thank all the wonderful caregivers that showed compassion and love for our mother- Andrea, Beverly, Chynna, Sandra and many others- Vista Healthcare and San Jose Gardens.
