Wanda McCune of Fruit Cove, Florida passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, April 18th at the age of 92. She was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Siebert J. McCune, who passed away in 1986.
Wanda was born in South Charleston, West Virginia and maintained lifelong friends from her childhood. She was a Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and friend who was cherished by all who loved her and those who knew her.
Wanda had a passion for Nursing having spent more than 30 years practicing in the Panama Canal Zone, Anchorage AK, Key West, Marathon, Vero Beach and St. Petersburg, Florida. Combining her passion for travelling and the gift of giving, she spent her final two years as a traveling nurse in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands and Silver Spring, Md., concluding a long fulfilling career as a Registered Nurse and retiring in 1992.
She is survived by her son Mitchel J. McCune (Carol), her daughter Kimberly Hicks (Kenneth), her granddaughters Michelle Hicks, Jacqueline Solana (Robert), Jamie McCune and great grandchildren Noah Hicks, Emily, Mason, Jaxin and Rylan Solana.
Wanda will be remembered for her lust of adventure, her undying faith, her sense of humor and the love for her family. As she often said, “Family is Everything”
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, August 7, 2021 at the Mandarin United Methodist Church, 11270 San Jose Blvd., Jacksonville, Florida 32223 at 11:00 a.m.
