He was born in Florida to Lloyd S. and Clara Carter. He lived in Jacksonville for most of his life and was a resident of Diamond ALF located in Green Cove Springs during his final years. He was a graduate of N B Forrest High School.
Wayne enjoyed family activities, especially family trips to Minnesota where most of his uncles, aunts, and cousins lived. There was fishing, horseshoes, and chess games to keep him busy. He was an avid bicyclist and had a passion for coin collecting. His reading habits centered around mathematics and historical events.
Wayne is survived by his four siblings; Lois Deakyne, Merlin (Mely) Carter, Linda Walter, and Elaine Hoppe, all of Jacksonville; plus many nieces and nephews.
A private service will be held for the family.
