"Will" Shearer

SHEARER- “Will” Shearer, 73, passed away on Monday March 24, 2008 in Jacksonville. Will was a long time resident of Jacksonville, Florida, was very active in the community. For many years he was active in the Knights of Columbus and involved in sports with his children. He was well known and respected member of the advertising community for over 40 years. He had his own advertising agency, worked for the Florida Times Union, was local sales manager for WJKS-TV, WAWS-TV, and WTLV-TV, and was a past president of the Jacksonville Advertising Federation. Will attended both the University of Florida and Jacksonville University. He was a Marine Corps veteran. He is survived by his loving wife Gail Henley; his daughters, Linda Joyce Harris (Wayne) and Debra Marie House (Peter); his sons, Stephen A Shearer, Michael A. Shearer (Juliet) and David Christopher Shearer (Amy); his children’s mother and former wife Patricia Joyce Shearer; step daughter- Tracy Henley; step sons- Craig Henley and Richard Allen Henley, Jr. (Angie); a brother, Edward Shearer (Ione) 13 grandchildren and step grandchildren including, Lindsey, Melanie and Jenna Shearer, Christina Dempsey, Douglas Harris, Peter, Rachel and Marissa House, and Kelly, Allison and Brooke Shearer; one great-grand daughter, Haley Rae Dempsey and many other loving relatives and friends who will greatly miss him. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday March 28, 2008 in the Chapel of Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home, 940 Cesery Blvd. The celebrant will be Father Steven Zehler. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to The American Cancer Society, 1430 Prudential Dr. Jax. FL
