

Carlson, William “Bill”, 81, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 4th. Bill was born to Gustav and Fannie Carlson in Camden, NJ on June 15, 1930, both of whom are deceased. Bill is predeceased by his brother, Carl Carlson; daughter, Linda Gunn; and daughter-in-law, Jackie Carlson.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Millie; sons, Gus Carlson and Bill Carlson (Dana); daughter, Debbie Manning (Jim); nine grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bill’s career spanned over 40 years as a safety director for cigar manufacturing and construction industries. Bill will be remembered for his significant contributions to our lives through the Knights of Columbus, Junior Achievement, Lions Club, and Christ the King Catholic Church. He will never be forgotten as the Clifton neighborhood Santa Claus for over 25 years. Most importantly, he will be remembered for the love and dedication to his family and friends.
The family will receive friends at the church from 5-6pm on Thursday, June 7, 2012 with a Rosary service at 6:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 8, 2012 at Christ The King Catholic Church, 742 Arlington Rd., North. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations are made to Rescue Me Ministry, 4350 Pablo Professional Court, 32224 or Heartland Hospice, 8130 Baymeadows Way West, Suite 201, Jacksonville, FL 32256. HARDAGE-GIDDENS OAKLAWN CHAPEL, 4801 San Jose Blvd is serving the family.
