

Gaddis, William V., 89, passed away Dec. 15, 2014 follow a lengthy illness. Born in Alcoa, Tn., He was a longtime resident of Jacksonville, Fl. Mr. Gaddis was retired after serving his country 26 years in the Navy retiring as a Chief. He served in WWII, Korean Conflict and Viet Nam receiving a number of accomadations. Following his military career, he was a supervisor with Morrison Cafeteria for several years. He was a member of New Life Baptist Church, Jacksonville where services will be held Saturday Dec. 20, 2014 at 10:00 am. With Rev. Alan McCurdy , officiating. Survivors include his wife Lillian King Gaddis; 4 children, Dave, Daniel, Donna and Keith Gaddis; granddaughter, Dasha Lynn; and great grand daughter Isabella Grace. The family will receive friends Friday from 4-6 pm at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 5753 Blanding Blvd. Mr. Gaddis will be laid to rest in the Hephzibah Church Cemetery, Waycross, Ga. At 2:00 pm with military honors under the care of Music Funeral Home, Waycross, Ga.
