

William F. “Bill” Hutchings passed away Saturday, May 7, 2016. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Evelyn Hutchings, Jr. and Louise Van Winkle Hutchings, both of Jacksonville. He is survived by his wife, Patricia, and three sisters: Louise Westling of Eugene, OR; Pamela Chappell of Jacksonville, and Ellen Campbell of Harrodsburg, KY. William Hutchings was a general contractor in Jacksonville and owner of William F. Hutchings, Inc., General Contracting Design and Development. He was a member of Northeast Florida Builders Association. He was a graduate of DuPont High School and Florida State University. He served in the United States Navy. He was a life member of the Jacksonville Sporting Clays, Skeet and Trap Club and served on the board of directors. He participated in the Police Council in Jacksonville. As a Florida State graduate, he was a member of the Alumni Association and Seminole Boosters. An avid sportsman, William enjoyed hunting, fishing, diving and traveling. Also, he designed and created original wood arts. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:30 am Thursday, May 12 in Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin.
