William G. “Gregg” Johnson, 49, passed away on Tuesday July 29, 2008 in Jacksonville. Gregg was born in 1958 in Monroe, N.C. and moved with his family to Jacksonville at an early age. He attended Sandlewood High and Florida Community College. He had a great enjoyment for NASCAR, fishing, playing pool, and was a longtime Jimmy Buffet “Parrot Head”. Gregg was also a big fan of the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Florida Gators. Gregg is survived by his mother, Beverly J. Johnson, his father, C. Reid Johnson Sr.; a sister Karen B. Gorman (Jack); a brother, Charles R. Johnson, Jr. (Carol); two nephews, Matthew and Adam Johnson, and many other loving relatives and friends. The family will receive friends at 10:30 AM on Friday, August 8, 2008 at the Chapel of Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home, 940 Cesery Blvd immediately followed by the memorial service with Pastor Fitu Tafaoa officiating at 11:00 AM. The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the Wolfson’s Childrens Hospital 800 Prudential Drive.
