

William was born on March 30, 1937, in Dover, New Jersey, to William Fredrick Joseph LeVasseur Sr. and Hildegard LeVasseur. He was a graduate of Chesaning High School in Michigan and previously resided in St. Charles, Michigan, from 1964 to 2016.
A proud veteran, William served in the United States Navy from October 22, 1954, to October 21, 1962. He was stationed aboard the USS Antietam (CV-36), where he served as a ship’s serviceman. In recognition of his honorable service, he was awarded the Good Conduct Medal.
William was a devoted member of Blessed Trinity Catholic Church and an active participant in the church’s Men’s Club for many years, where he enjoyed fellowship and service. He loved spending time with his family and was an avid bowler, participating in leagues and bowling several days a week. William was always there to support his friends and teammates and will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and genuine love of people.
He was preceded in death by his beloved spouse, Loretta LeVasseur (2006), and his eldest daughter, Kathleen Memmer (2019).
William is survived by his son, William F. LeVasseur III (Susan); his daughter, Susan Devers (Mike); and his cherished grandchildren, Kari, Becky, Megan, Bryanna, Stephanie, Anne, and Erica, along with several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
William’s legacy of love, service, and friendship will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
A visitation will be held at Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home , located at 940 Cesery Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32211, on January 16, 2026, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
A Funeral Mass will take place at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church, 10472 Beach Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32246, on January 17, 2026, at 2:00 pm.
