

William T.(Bill) Shore, Jr. passed away on February 26, 2013 after a lengthy illness. Mr. Shore was a native of Charlotte, N.C. His father was the President of the North Carolina Bar Association and his mother was the first female to become a member of the North Carolina Bar Association.
He graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and was a veteran of World War II. After his honorable discharge from the United States Army Air Corp. (now the Air Force), he accepted a position in Miami, Florida and later a promotion to Jacksonville in 1951, where he remained until his death. He was an extremely successful automobile executive and was the owner and President of Westside Dodge for many years until he eventually retired and sold the dealership.
He was predeceased by two wives, Beatrice Shore and Evelyn (Chris) Shore, and his sisters Leah Commander (Rick) and Harriet Shore.
He is survived by his sons, County Judge Brent D. Shore (Kathryn) and Chris B. Shore and grandchildren, Kristin Shore and Brent D. Shore, Jr. He is also survived by his brother, Al Shore of Dallas, TX. Also surviving are his step-children, Mary Heath, Shelby Lamm and Carolyn Alford (Ernest) and eight step-grandchildren.
A Celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, March 2 at 11:00 am at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 4115 Hendricks Ave., Jacksonville, FL. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery.
