William Stuart Neal, IV, age 64, died March 26, 2017 in Jacksonville, Florida, his home for 40 years. He was a joyous soul, a true friend to many, and a loving and devoted husband to Melissa Keyes-Neal. He was preceded in death by his father, Dr. William Stuart Neal III; his mother, Priscilla Morson Neal; and his brother, Bruce Morson Neal (Stephanie Russell Neal). He is survived by his wife, Melissa Keyes-Neal; and two sisters, Dianne Neal Davenport (Bill) and Susan Neal Blakeman (Don). Stuart was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on April 6, 1952, graduated from St. Martin’s High School in Metairie in 1970 and then attended Loyola University in New Orleans where he earned a degree in Communications. His career took him to Jacksonville and in 1999, together with his partners, Nicholas Furris and Kyle Summerall, Spectrum Films, Inc. was formed. His passion for editing video allowed him to work on numerous projects including documentaries such as the “History of the Orthodox Christianity” (where he won an Emmy), educational programs, television shows, commercials and other interactive media. But, Stuart had many passions in life. Besides his work, he loved his pets; he loved cooking (New Orleans style) and he loved music. During high school, Stuart played the drums in a number of bands. In college he shared his love of music through DJ-ing at a local nightclub, Trinity, and was one of the founding members of the New Orleans Disco Association. Once in Florida, he continued DJ-ing at The Backdoor, a nightclub owned by the future love of his life, Melissa. After marriage, he started a mobile DJ business, FXSounde, providing the music for numerous wedding receptions and other parties in the area. In addition to his two sisters, Stuart is survived by five nieces and nephews (Blair Neal, Elizabeth Neal, Debbie Weldon, Billy Sciacca and Mark Sciacca); six grand-nieces and nephews; a step-father, Maurice Picheloup; and a step-sister, Claire Gisclair (Derby).
