

Anthony graduated from high school and continued on to recieve his associate degree in science from University of South Carolina. He Enlisted in the United States Army in 1978 -1982; enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1982 - 2006 - cumulatively, he was active duty for 30 years, 8 months and 15 days in the armed forces. Dedicating his life to the corps, he faithfully served his country with pride and dignity.
He is survived by his father, John Mungavin of New York, age 78; Mother, Betty Cowles of Kentucky, age 78; Brothers, Jim Robertson of Missouri, age 53 and Mike Robertson of Kentucky, age 52; Sister, Angele Marino of New York, age 53; three daughters Marilyn Wright age 33, Kimberly Mungavin age 32 and Active Duty Senior Airman Jacquelyn Mungavin age 23; his former Spouse of 23 years Lorrie Kirby, age 57; along with five grandchildren, Amelia, age 10, Phoenix, age 9, Owen, age 8, Trenton, age 8, and Jaxson, age 1.
He is preceded in death by his nephew Evan Schaffer of Missouri, deceased April 11, 2010 age 18.
A celebration of life service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 9 at Johnson Funeral Home in Jacksonville NC. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 11 at Coastal Carolina Veterans Cemetery with military honors rendered.
