Every time this part of the year creeps up you are always on my mind.    While you were only in my life for a short time you are the kind of person that is hard to forget Caleb. Such a large personality, questioning everything, learning any moment you can. Pushing boundaries and limits that probably shouldn't be tested. I remember you making a soup with dandelions and that was the first time I learned it was actually ingestiable and had benefits for the body.  I remember who we all sort of took turns watching over you while we were in school together. At least now you are at peace and one day we will all see each other again. I'll race you then!

It’s been ten years today. I’ve graduated highschool. I’m on the other side of recovery living the life so many prayed over you. I’ve fallen in love and been heartbroken. I got my first tattoo. Mom says that we are all growing up to be so similar to you. I treat everything with herbal remedies and Nate chops wood at two in the morning listening to Celtic music. Jack is in college. He did robotics. He codes with a show a video game and music going on in all different tabs like you used to. I remember you coming in the house excited to find out that aunt Erika was pregnant with Xander. The brain on that kid. I wish you could have had conversations with him. No one has forgotten you. I come back here and read what everyone has said about you. We miss you. I miss you Dad.

Dear brother, it is 9pm...
3 years ago tonight, I was overcome with fright;
And despite your message to me, you assured me that all would be alright.
This life had taken its toll, and the enemy fed you lies
But now, dearest brother, I imagine you're looking in truth's eyes.
Being embraced by, and understanding, the hope and love that sets you free,
As the shackles and limits of our comprehension cease to be.
And while my heart still overflows with grief at the thought of life without you,
It cycles back to unspeakable joy to know the hands that hold you.
For while this life has tarried no longer,
It is when we are less that he becomes stronger.
And such enduring proof, only He can give,
When at last, we're not bound in this vessel we live.
For who endures like our God? Who has proved great and mighty as He?
He is the author from before time existed, and the King over all eternity.
For though many seek to judge and opine,
On issues and topics this side of the line,
It is You alone that sits on the throne and determines "this one is mine".
And brother, this much I know beyond any shadow of doubt,
You loved the Lord Jesus, and wrestled like us all in walking it out.
But yours was an unusually intense desire for Him deep in your soul,
And you hated any evidence of personal frailty that might indicate your were not honoring Him with your whole.
Alas though my brother, lest I go on all night
I'll focus my attention on what lies ahead in sight.
I trust that as sure our redeemer lives,
A future reunion He will give.
For family is meant to be together,
So I'll lean on Him through the short lonely days ahead, and eagerly await our forever.

I love you Caleb, I miss your voice, I wish we could hike more trails together, and I wish you could see your wonderful wife and kids and neices/nephews and who they are becoming - you would be so proud!

Brother, it was too much to write yesterday, but the beauty of your spirit, vitality for life, pursuit of excellence, and love for the lord have been constantly on my mind. Oh how  i miss you beloved brother. How good is the lord that he holds up all who are weak, that he brings joy in the morning, and that beside each of us who call on his name, he has promised his righteousness in our stead so we may rest and praise him throughout eternity.

Nalesa...our deepest sympathy on learning about Caleb's passing .we enjoyed visiting with you and Caleb when we were vacationing in Emerald Isle NC . We only discovered this today ; Dec 19 ; 2015.

Caleb and I deployed together with the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit back in 2010. I remember on the ship we use to joke around and study for advancement as well, as we where both "Senior HM2's". I am sad to hear about his passing. SHIPMATE, I HAVE THE WATCH

Our prayers have been with you this past year.  We were just talking the other day about your family, and Alyson (who was in high school with Caleb) said he was always one to make people laugh.  What a way to remember him... Know that we continue to keep you in our thoughts and prayers.

I occasionally return to this page and get real joy as I read through the comments. Thank each one for posting. God continues to give comfort and real hope.

In Oct. David and I are joining the Amer. Fdtn. for Suicide Prevention's 'Out of the Darkness' Walk in Jacksonville, FL to raise support for the cause. (AFSP.org)  As I deal with the loss of our son, I feel compelled to do something to stop this from happening in other families. I want to offer hope and by God's grace see the horrific number 108 suicides/day in the US, drop to 0.

My heart is breaking hearing of the passing of Caleb I too am in denial like most... he was such a kind free spirit a pleasure to work with. My deepest sympathy an prayers to his family.

Caleb was my psychology student last year.  I just found out about hi passing and was deeply saddened about it.  Caleb was very bright and energetic.

To all the friends of Caleb, Nalesa, and the rest of our family - I just want you to know that your words of remembrance and encouragement have been read and mean a lot to us all.  Thank you all so much.

I just heard of Caleb's passing. I remember Caleb from my days as a student at Bethany Bible College, now Kingswood University, where his father was serving as President. He always had a smile, and was well-liked by our entire student family. My thoughts and prayers are with your family during this time of sorrow. May God wrap you in His arms and allow you to feel His love in the midst of your grief, and may He bless and keep you until we all meet around His throne.

 Went to college with Caleb this Spring Semester, 2014 and he is the coolest guy in our class. I'm so sadden and in denial of Caleb's passing. My thoughts and prayers goes out to his families, friends and classmates. He will always be remembered.

It is with deep sadness that we heard of Caleb's passing. I always looked forward to seeing him and his lovely family at our church. I especially enjoyed his insights during our morning Bible studies. As I understand it, he had been an active duty Navy Hospital Corpsman, so we shared a special bond. In college, I remember thinking he hadn't changed a bit, as I would always see him walking around campus in his bare feet. Dear Nalesa and family,

Kevin and I are so deeply grieved for you with the loss of Caleb.  Upon hearing the news, tears sprang to my eyes, and we were both stunned and saddened.  

But then we were so impressed yesterday (while cleaning the carpets!) at how your family has bonded together during this painfully sad time.  You were all busy helping each other, and I saw kind actions and grace displayed the whole time we were there.  What a great family you all are, and what an excellent example you set for others who also go through loss.
