Florence McDowell

Florence Gerard Ransom McDowell, 82 of Jacksonville, passed away at Onslow Memorial Hospital. The Lord took Flo's hand early Friday morning and walked her through the gates of Heaven after a long illness.

Flo is survived by her son Les McDowell and wife Connie of Parish, FL, daughters Debbie Steele and husband Dale of Jacksonville and Jane McDowell Sabbe and husband Nelson of Zanesville, OH, sister Sue Willmington and husband Harold of Lynchburg, VA, grandchildren Shannon Earwood, Shane Sutton, Jenny Reber, Tyson Sutton, Mandi Sutton, Josh Sutton, Holly Santino, and Jared McDowell, and 14 great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, 07/28 at 3 PM at Johnson Funeral Home of Jacksonville. A service celebrating Flo's life will follow the visitation on Sunday at 4PM also at Johnson Funeral Home of Jacksonville with Pastor James Brown and Pastor Nelson Sabbe officiating. Burial will take place at a later date in Illinois.
