In 1990 Sgt Petrongelli was one of my Drill Instructors Platoon 2029 G Company Dec 1990- Mar 1991. I was researching former Marines and friends and unfortunately stumbled upon this news from 2012. I will never forget after bootcamp late 1991 seeing Sgt Petrongelli at Camp Lejeune while walking to sickbay. The minute I observed him I snapped back to boot camp mode and froze. I remember him looking at me with a look of disgust , saying you’re not in bootcamp anymore, now go away.  Sorry to see he passed at such a young age, but to this day I can still remember his voice and also how he made an impact on the rest of my life. Thank you Drill Instructor !!!

Annette it has been many years since Marsha and I have seen you. I would  see Jim on rare ocations when he came by to see Mike. It was allways nice to see him again.  Jim,you, and Mike have  been friends for a long time. He will be greatly missed.
