Michael R. Claus

On August 25, 2015, Michael “Mike” Ray Claus departed this earth to be with his Lord and Savior, after a long battle with cancer. Mike was born on October 4, 1948 to Al and Nancy Claus in Jacksonville NC. Mike had three brothers, Butch of Ormond Beach, FL, Danny and Charlie who still reside in Jacksonville. Mike was married to his dearly departed wife, Iris (now deceased) for over 40 years. Mike has two sons, Chris and Joey and five grandchildren. Mike attended school in Jacksonville and was in the U.S. Army serving in both Vietnam and Germany. Mike was blessed with the gift of working with his hands and using his imagination to create many unique and original designs in wood working. Mike was the owner of Claus Construction in which he served many local businesses in the Onslow County area. Mike was a faithful member of the Christian Tabernacle Church and truly loved his Lord. Funeral services will be held at Johnson Funeral Home, Jacksonville, at 11:00am, Saturday with Rev. Randall Pierce officiating. The family will receive friends Friday from 7:00pm-9:00pm at the funeral home. The family requests in lieu of flowers, that a donation be made to the American Cancer Society.
