Betty Johnson

Family will be receiving friends at Kilgore-Green Funeral Home, on Friday, April 10, 2026, from 1 until 2 p.m. Funeral service will follow at 2 p.m., in the Kilgore-Green Chapel, with burial at Mt. Philadelphia Baptist Cemetery of Cordova. Dave Sexton will officiate.

Betty was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother whose kindness was known to all. Her sewing and culinary creations are legendary reminders of her creativity. Her love of Christ shone through her generosity to many who she called her friends and will be remembered as Aunt Betty to her extended family.

She was preceded by death by her parents, Leamon “Red” Kilgore and Mary Sue Kilgore of Saragossa; siblings, Myra Jean Butler (Bill) and Quinton Kilgore (Jeannette); grandparents, John Lincoln and Ida Mae Kilgore; Gordon H. Sanford and Ellen Holloway Kizzire; in-laws: James Herman and Margie Russell Johnson of Cordova

She is survived by her loving husband, Steve Johnson; children, Derek Johnson and Tyler Johnson (Caroline); granddaughter, Violet Johnson; brother, James “Bud” Kilgore (Charlotte); sister, Patti Kilgore and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
