She is survived by her son, Al McAdams (Brenda), a host of nieces and nephews and special friends, Julie Cowen and the staff of both Ridgeview Health Services and Southeast Hospice.

Dot was a lifelong resident of Jasper, graduating from Walker County High School in 1947. Following graduation, she worked with several local businesses before marrying Ray. They welcomed their son, Al, in 1956 and daughter, Lisa, in 1958.
In the early years of motherhood, Dot devoted herself fully to raising her children, creating a loving and happy home. In 1966, she began working for the City of Jasper, where she eventually became City Clerk—a role she held with dedication until her retirement in 1992.
A faithful and lifelong member of First United Methodist Church, Dot was christened there as an infant and remained an active and devoted member throughout her life. She taught Bible School, was a dedicated member of her Sunday School class, participated passionately in the ministries of the United Methodist Women, especially in her women’s circle, and was frequently called upon for special projects thanks to her dependable and willing spirit.
Dot also gave generously of her time to the Jasper community. She was one of the early members of the Pilot Club of Jasper, supporting numerous local causes, and served as secretary of the board at Musgrove Country Club.
One of Dot’s most cherished traditions was her bridge club, formed with close friends before their children were born. The group continued playing for decades, offering not only enjoyment but lasting friendship and support—becoming a source of both fun and therapy for all involved.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Jasper First Methodist, 1800 3rd Avenue South, Jasper, AL 35501, or to Walker Area Community Foundation, P.O. Box 171, Jasper, AL 35502.
