Mrs. Ganey was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who was often referred to as "Granny," "Maw," "Aunt Dot," "Granny Dot," and "Sister Ganey." Unbeknownst to many, she always wanted to own and operate a flower shop, and was very gifted in designing her own floral arrangements and enjoyed the avocational pursuit of flower gardening. However, she chose to faithfully serve in the ministry alongside her husband, the late Rev. Johnny 'J.C.' Ganey - oftentimes, picking her husband up from work to visit sick church members or their families at all hours of the day or night.
Following her husband's graduation to Heaven in 2007, Mrs. Ganey remained faithful to God and loyal to New Bethany Full Gospel Church of God, where she was a member. Not only did she sing at church with her sister and other members of the congregation, but she was also a strong prayer warrior - always "standing in the gap" for others. Mrs. Ganey was a true woman of God and had a servant's heart - always there to comfort, encourage and pray for those in need - whether it be in person, on the phone or sending various Christian-themed cards. She unselfishly gave in every aspect of her life and always wanted to help others.
Mrs. Ganey was employed in the banking industry for many years until she became a full-time homemaker raising three children and later helping raise grandchildren. She loved to read her Bible, watch and listen to preaching, watch "Wheel of Fortune," avidly read novels, do word searches and care for her dog, Hank. However, her most prized possessions were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Ganey will be greatly missed by all and her strong, independent personality and contagious smile will forever be remembered. She will truly be leaving a legacy.
Mrs. Ganey was preceded in death by her parents, Grady and Edna Eads; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Clarence and Ida Ganey; sister, Faye Plunkett; brother, Frank Eads; sisters-in-law, Lola Pat Strickland, Lee Ola Tucker, Jean Johnson, Eunice Ganey and Glenda Eads; brothers-in-law, Johnny Strickland, Fred Tucker and Willard Johnson.
She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Ganey Webster and her husband, Roger, of Dogtown; and sons, Johnny Michael Ganey and his wife, Janice, and Ronnie Joe Ganey and his wife, Gina, all of Jasper; five grandchildren, Heather Webster Holderfield and her husband, Scott; Briana Webster Hess and her husband, Justin; Alex Ganey; Andrew Ganey and his wife, Lindsay; and Sarah Elizabeth Ganey; three great-grandchildren, Maeleigh Holderfield, Jase Holderfield, Danielle Hess and also expecting another great-grandson, baby Ganey, in January 2024; and a host of nieces, nephews and a multitude of friends.

Honorary pallbearers will include Steve Plunkett, Tommie Eads, Johnny Harbin, Bill Webster, Donald Ray Guthrie, Alex Ganey and Jeff Stephens.
