Helen Virginia Randolph

JASPER - Helen Virginia Hamilton Randolph, age 83, of Jasper, Ala., passed away Saturday, April 11, 2020, at her residence.

A private family graveside service will be held. Burial at Studdards Cross Roads Cemetery.

Virginia was born in Berry and attended Berry High School. She married at the age of 16 to T.R. Randolph of Hubbertville. They moved to California where he was stationed in the Navy. She received her GED at this time. They moved to Florida and then to Texas with her husband’s career being with WT Grants. They moved back to Alabama in 1966 to start a dairy farm. Virginia had five children who were her pride and joy. She wore many hats in her lifetime including working at Spann’s .5 and .10 and Piggly Wiggly in Winfield. She also owned Country Kitchen Diner. She moved to Tuscaloosa to take care of her ailing mother and be near some of her grown children. She worked at Happy Faces Day Care and at Bryant Denny Hall at the University of Alabama as a dietician. She pursued her Dietary Manager degree and later served as such at several nursing homes. After retiring, she moved to Jasper to be near her daughter and grandchildren. Virginia loved being a grandmother and spending time with her grandchildren. She was much loved by many and will be truly missed.

She was preceded in death by her husband the father of her children, Tolbert Roland Randolph; parents, Jerry Elion Hamilton and Mildred Sylvania Studdard; siblings, James Edward Hamilton, Aubrey Hamilton and Charles Edward Hamilton; grandparents, Monroe Studdard, Zema Sawyer Studdard, Harvey Preston Hamilton, Mary Elizabeth Hamilton and Betty Brand Hamilton; in-laws, Henry Clifton Randolph, Zema and Luella Johnson Randolph.

She is survived by her children, Kenneth Ray Randolph (Denise), Janet Marie Randolph Thompson (Kenny), Joyce Ann Randolph Miller (Finance` Charles White), John Thomas Randolph (Julia) and Henry Clifton Randolph (Shea); grandchildren, Jennifer Michelle Randolph Smith (Scott), David Elas Randolph (Tiffany), Joshua Paul Randolph, Ashley Ann Springer Krumbien (Patrick), Ashley Ramage (Ryan), Allyson Snyder (Joe) James Henry Edward Miller, Morgan Marie Miller, Michael Christopher Randolph, Lauren Rose Randolph and Kory Justin Randolph (Amber); great-grandchildren, Jensen Chord Smith, Lily Grace Randolph, Colton Elias Randolph, Caden James Randolph, Kolton James Randolph, Jackson Ramage, Jacob Ramage, and Parker Snyder; siblings, Eleanore Marie Boswell, Harold Hamilton and Roland Hamilton; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family would like to thank Alabama Hospice for their excellent care during her prolonged illness. Special thanks to Tayla Custred, Connie Gilbert and Chad Ingle.
