
James Hilton “Sluggo” Woodley, 87, of Jasper, passed away Monday, Dec. 12, 2016, at his residence. Visitation will be today, Dec. 14, 2016, from 1 until 2 p.m., at Kilgore-Green Funeral Home. Funeral services will be today, Dec. 14, 2016, at 2 p.m., in the Kilgore-Green Chapel, with burial at Walker Memory Gardens. Jeffrey Woods will officiate. Woodley served his country with two tours to Korea and two tours to Viet Nam. He served his country proudly and sacrificed his time from his family to help protect and serve his country insuring its freedom. He was a faithful husband and a great father to his family of six children. He enjoyed fishing and bowling. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 58 years, Christine Billitz Woodley; parents, Marion Newton Woodley and Birdie Eursler Estes Woodley; and siblings, Nettie Loree Woodley Kircus, Marion Earl Woodley, Mary Evelyn Woodley McCullar, and Lawrence Edward Woodley. He is survived by his children, James H. Woodley Jr. (Stephanie), Marion Joe Woodley, Susan Lynne Hudson (Ted), Cynthia Anne Johnson (Steve), Myra Kaye Woodley, and Margaret Carol Kiker (David); grandchildren, Mark Woodley, Dianna Woodley, Jeffrey Woodley, Keslie Kayden Shugart; and four grand-grandchildren
